WP Spin Plugin

by Renee - April 5th, 2011

WP Spin is among the most useful plugins for WordPress powered Websites. I personally use it myself on this  blog  to revise my older content and all I can say is really cool! It’s so simple to use and you only have to do the task once to allow the plugin update your entire older posts with new and unique content.

It is often compared to The Best Spinner but WP Spin is a one time cost.  The Best Spinner License must be renewed once each year.  .

WP Spin  by  Mike Johnson  enables you to schedule re-writes of either auto content, article spinner content you have created, or original unique content you might have included as Spinner Syntax.  WP Spin  actually changes the individual posts which makes the GoogleBot and other Search Engine Spiders come crawling back to your site as a result of the update of your posts. With the excluded words function, you can make sure that none of your keywords or keywords phrases are altered by  WP Spin , therefore keeping your keyword density and making certain your site post maintains its standing in the search engine rankings and moves up the ranks.

You really should try it. since there is no risk. It is sold through Clickbank and you are covered by Clickbank’s 60 day guarantee.

Where to buy your domain

by Renee - January 22nd, 2010

There is endless debate on where to register your domain.

You can from time to time find a promotion or deal and save a dollar or two by shopping around, bud I have come to the conclusion that there are three really reliable registrars that, if you stick to one or more of them you will get a fair price and decent service.

Lots of people use godaddy, I think they may be the biggest, measured by the number of domains. The only thing good about them, in my opinion is that you get to leer at Danica Patrick wearing some hot leather, I try stay away from godaddy for anything and everything. I purchase some domain names from time to time there, and move them at the first opportunity. They have the most difficult and slowest management interface I have ever seen. Things that take one or two steps to accomplish elsewhere, take five or six with them. The only websites that I have seen that are slower are some of the games running on facebook. With godaddy you have to refuse an endless series of upsells to accomplish anything.
As far as I am concerned, you can’t go wrong with name.com, netfirms, or namecheap.
They all have some minor quirks, but if you deal with them you will be just fine.

My favorite is Name.com. The only caveat there is that their customer service staff work 7am-9pm Monday-Friday and 8am-7pm on weekends (USA Mountain time UTC-7). You or I rarely, if ever need them, so it shouldn’t be an issue. I usually keep a small credit balance there, so that there is no possibility of any credit card glitches getting in the way of a domain transaction. They have the fastest execution of a domain registration that I have seen. I have registered  domains and have had them resolve in minutes. They also have the cleanest and fastest management interface that I have seen.

Netfirms is another registrar that I use for some of my domains mainly because they are often the cheapest. The only drawback, is that there is a bit of a lag between your transaction and the execution of the registration with network solutions. This was a problem for me when I had an opportunity to purchase a dropped domain. I paid for it, and after 15 minutes or so, the WHOIS  was still showing available and I purchased it again at Name.com where it showed up immediately as registered. I did get a refund without asking for it. Once their system identified it as a failed transaction, they refunded it in full.

I have a smaller number of domains at Namecheap and they seem to have a good price. Everything works just fine.

You can usually save a little on any/all of them if you check for coupons at http://www.retailmenot.com/

The Top 10 Alternatives to Google Adsense

by Renee - November 25th, 2009

This is an edited  excerpt of an article that originally appeared on Ross Walker’s website.

You can read the original here: http://www.rosswalker.co.uk/adsense_top10/

Google AdSense is the current leader in content-sensitive web-based marketing. Webmasters can place Google AdSense JavaScript code on their web pages in order to allow Google’s servers to show context sensitive advertisements (Google Adwords).

Google’s terms and conditions are very strict such that many web publishers cannot use adsense adverts on their sites. They are either denied from joining the Google AdSense program in the first instance, or in a situation that is becoming more and more common do not wish to do business with Google.  A number of publishers are also finding their Adsense accounts are being disabled for reasons that are completely beyond their control.

The problem is that most of the alternatives to Google’s Adsense are pretty useless. Most of the good ones (such as doubleclick) are only interested in very large volume customers and so are not interested in the little guy with his blog who wants to earn a small income on the side.

For this reason I am presetinh 10 alternatives to Google’s Adsense that are ideal
for the small time publisher.
If you are a advertiser then you may be interested in these  alternatives to adwords
Has your adsense account been disabled?  Then try one or more of these 10 alternatives.

  1. AdBrite
  2. Clicksor
  3. Bidvertiser
  4. Chitika
  5. AdToll
  6. Exit Junction
  7. Yahoo Publisher
    Network
  8. Target Point
  9. Fastclick
  10. ClickThruTraffic

The first step towards the internet’s Holy Grail?

by Renee - May 8th, 2009

An invention that could change the internet for ever

Revolutionary new web software could put giants such as Google in the shade when it comes out later this month. Andrew Johnson reports

The biggest internet revolution for a generation will be unveiled this month with the launch of software that will understand questions and give specific, tailored answers in a way that the web has never managed before.

The new system, Wolfram Alpha, showcased at Harvard University in the US last week, takes the first step towards what many consider to be the internet’s Holy Grail – a global store of information that understands and responds to ordinary language in the same way a person does.

Although the system is still new, it has already produced massive interest and excitement among technology pundits and internet watchers.

Computer experts believe the new search engine will be an evolutionary leap in the development of the internet. Nova Spivack, an internet and computer expert, said that Wolfram Alpha could prove just as important as Google. “It is really impressive and significant,” he wrote. “In fact it may be as important for the web (and the world) as Google, but for a different purpose.

Tom Simpson, of the blog Convergenceofeverything.com, said: “What are the wider implications exactly? A new paradigm for using computers and the web? Probably. Emerging artificial intelligence and a step towards a self-organising internet? Possibly… I think this could be big.”

Good List of Webmaster-Friendly Forums

by Renee - April 27th, 2009

Over the last few years a plethora of forum sites have appeared where webmasters collect and share hints tips and tricks. Its been hard to keep track of all of these but something that is so great about these forums encourage forward thinking, sharing information and networking all at the same time. This is one of the ways we as a group of web entrepreneurs get together for common self improvement. I have searched the Internet and compiled list of sites that incorporate a sense of togetherness. I use a lot of these sites and plan on using some of those that I found recently.

I haven’t been keeping up with this blog. I’ll try to backfill

by Renee - October 23rd, 2008

Here it is the 23′rd of October, I don’t want to add up what I’ve spent on stuff, and I’ve collected almost 8 gb worth of paid for and freebie software and e-books.

We have a few small projects, and are presently looking at ways to start getting backlinks to our projects through article submission.

Efficiency seems to dictate automating some of this and there are two functions that need to be addressed.

First is the creation of unique articles to get published on multiple websites to avoid getting penalized by the search engines.

Second is publishing the articles on various websites.

I’ll be looking at several options these tasks.

Right now I’m thinking about UltimateContentCreator

Friday Update

by Renee - October 3rd, 2008

We are still looking for our first $100.00 day. I am finally getting around to updating this blog. We are looking for a way to update content on too many domains that we purchased or set up on our own.

I think I am going to test the water with Joomla with what looks like a good and cheap toolkit at Joomla success
